Introducing points.credit – a Travel Focused Points and Miles Resource

The overwhelming majority of this blog is travel, and 75% of it over the past 3 years has been thanks to various points and miles programs from credit cards. I've been fortunate enough to fly myself and partner across the world in first and business class for free, as well as luxury hotels and suites costing thousands per night.

As a web developer who loves to create side projects but gets bored quickly, I wanted to spin up a resource that provided value but took minimal upkeep on my end. I created points.credit as an accurate and intentional resource for tracking transfer bonuses between cards and airline/hotel programs in their entirety. While it's easy to Google current bonuses and transfer partners, I found that the results are often fragmented and outdated. points.credit exists to hopefully be a single source of truth for transfer bonus history, as well as an up-to-date resource for current transfer bonuses. I'd like to implement a blog at some point, too, probably crossposting any relevant posts from this blog.

I'm a little conflicted at the state of a lot of the current points and miles world online specifically – it seems like a big chunk of the community has lost the plot around why we travel, to experience new cultures, communities, and impress lasting experiences upon ourselves, and instead are more concerned at maximizing CPP (cents per point) or how cheaply they can stay somewhere. What points and miles have done for me is open up a way for me to hyperaccelerate these experiences for myself. Instead of going on an international trip every two years, I'm able to go on multiple trips a year, experiencing the world and other unique cultures at a pace 99.9% of the world just cannot. points.credit is just my small outlet to give back and stay involved in the community in a positive, travel-forward way.
